Smoldering with history, beauty, and passion, Buenos Aires' streets and plazas exude sophistication. Start at the city's most historic and arresting square, the Plaza de Mayo, where Evita addressed crowds from the balcony of Casa Rosada. The stark Neoclassical cathedral stands nearby; its twelve columns represent the twelve apostles. Tour the diverse barrios of Puerto Madero and Recoleta (where Evita is buried). Then experience the Argentine countryside on an excursion to an estancia (ranch) where horseback riding and authentic gaucho cuisine awaits. See small town life at the historic Colonia de Sacramento, and complete your journey with an optional extension to Iguacu Falls, the largest waterfall in either North or South America.

China

Novelty and tradition combine in Beijing, China's buzzing cultural and political capital. Skyscrapers mingle with temples, traffic zooms around walled gardens, punk music provides the bass line for birds singing in their bamboo cages. In Xi’an terracotta soldiers stand guard over the former imperial city, while sophisticated Shanghai invites visitors into its revitalized streets for a taste of the colonial past. Eight days of pure fascination.
